About ATLAS

A reason to join the conversation.

Four Blue Diamonds aircraft flying in formation in DCS World
Flying together starts with communicating.

ATLAS began with a flight on 4YA.

It was a sunny day, and I was returning to base after my first successful ground strike in my newly acquired A-10. My heart was still racing. The mission had gone well, and all I had left to do was bring the aircraft home.

The runway was clear. I had announced my arrival on SRS. Everything looked set for a smooth landing to finish the flight.

Then, just as I was about to touch down, an F-18 moved onto the runway without making a radio call.

That moment stayed with me. I wanted better coordination around the airfield, but I also wanted to give people a reason to join SRS and actually speak.

Using the radio can feel intimidating when you are new. You might be unsure what to say, when to call, or whether anyone will answer. I wanted ATLAS to give those virtual pilots someone to talk to and a way to become comfortable participating in the radio environment.

The hope was that talking to ATLAS would help people get used to making calls, listening to the frequency and communicating with the other virtual pilots sharing the airspace.

That is why I made ATLAS. I wanted more people on comms, taking part in the flight together.

Why ATLAS is free

I built ATLAS to encourage more virtual pilots to get on SRS and feel comfortable speaking. Keeping its core features free supports that purpose. Someone who wants to try communicating should have an easy place to start.

The benefit reaches beyond the person using ATLAS. Every virtual pilot who becomes comfortable making a radio call helps the people sharing that airspace.

As ATLAS develops, some features may become paid offerings to help support its continued development. The aim is to keep the core experience accessible and give more virtual pilots a reason to join the conversation.

Our vision

A DCS community where virtual pilots feel comfortable using the radio and communicating with one another, and where shared airspace feels alive with people working together.

Our mission

To make radio communication an accessible and rewarding part of flying in DCS.

Through ATLAS, we give virtual pilots someone to call and a way to build confidence on comms. We aim to encourage participation in SRS while helping virtual pilots coordinate their movements and understand the traffic around them.

We want that confidence to carry into conversations with other virtual pilots, so more people become active participants in the community they fly with.
